As of 02/05/2022, there have been 6,948 cases of COVID-19 and 105 individuals who have passed away with COVID-19 in Iroquois County. We extend our prayers and deepest condolences to the family, friends, and community members affected by these losses.



There have been 106 new cases since our last update. &nbsp;



46.59% of the population of Iroquois County are considered fully vaccinated.

February is American Heart Month. During American Heart Month, the Iroquois County Public Health Department encourages residents to focus on cardiovascular health.



Over 350,000 cardiac arrests occur outside of the hospital each year. Most cardiac arrests happen at home. Calling 9-1-1 and providing CPR until help arrives increases the chance of survival for individuals experiencing cardiac arrest.



ICPHD is offering Heartsaver CPR/AED classes on February 16, 2022 at the Iroquois County Administrative building. There are two class times scheduled: 1:00-3:30pm and 6:00-8:30pm. The Heartsaver course is a certification course that provides hands on training for CPR/AED. The cost of the course is $35 and includes certification upon completion. The Iroquois County Administrative Center, 1001 E. Grant, Watseka, Il 60970 will be closed all day Thursday, February 3, 2022 due to the current and forecasted snowfall.



The building is scheduled to reopen again on Friday, February 4, 2022 with normal business hours 8:30-4:30.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for Wednesday February 2 ,2022 which will continue into Thursday February 3, 2022 . The warning indicated that Iroquois County could experience 10” to 14” of snow . Additional snow is expected throughout Wednesday night into Thursday with higher winds and gusts making roads impassable and treacherous .



 For the safety of the Iroquois County courthouse staff, attorneys and the public who would be required to come to court, the decision has been made to close the Iroquois County courthouse for Thursday February 3 , 2022 from 8:30AM to 4:30PM.



At this time, the Iroquois County courthouse is scheduled to re open on Friday February 4 , 2022 at 8:30AM . The weather and road conditions for Fri day will be assess ed and if further closure of the Iroquois County Courthouse is warranted, a news release will be provided.

The Iroquois County Administrative Center, 1001 E. Grant, Watseka, Il 60970 will be closed all day Wednesday, February 2, 2022 due to the current and forecasted snowfall. 



 The building is scheduled to reopen again on Thursday, February 3, 2022; however, conditions will be monitored and another announcement will be made should it be determined to close the building an additional day.

Wednesday February 2, 2022 



 The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for Wednesday February 2, 2022 . The warning indicated that Iroquois County could experience 10” to 14” of snow, which could start in the early morning hours of Wednesday February 2, 2022 at an accumulation rate of .5 inches per hour up to 1.5 inches per hour. For the safety of the Iroquois County courthouse staff, attorneys and the public who would be required to come to court, the decision has been made to close the Iroquois County Courthouse for Wednesday February 2, 2022 from 8:30AM to 4:30PM. A second round of this winter storm warning will continue on Thursday February 3, 2022 but it is forecasted not to be as severe. At this time, the Iroquois County courthouse is scheduled to re open on Thursday February 3, 2022. The weather and road conditions for Thursday will be assessed a nd if further closure of the Iroquois County Courthouse is warranted, a news release will be provided. Please stay safe.
