Press Release:
2025 Spring Posting Policy
Once again it is time to start thinking of the seasonal weight restrictions (load postings) to take effect January 1, 2025 on most County and township roads. These postings will remain in effect until April 1st, 2025. For the 2025 spring posting season written permits will not be require to be in the vehicle. It is the vehicle operator’s responsibility to check the county’s website at www.co.iroquois.il.us or call 815-432-4900 to check dates that hauling will be permitted. The days that hauling is restricted the vehicle operator must follow the load postings on the signs. The only exceptions will be emergency vehicles and school buses. Semi tractors will be permitted to bobtail to their home base of operation only (no trailers).
Information of the days hauling will be permitted, will be posted on the county website (www.co.Iroquois.il.us) or you may call (815)432-4900 for a voice recording of the hauling dates. Hard copies of the hauling dates will be available at the Highway Department office Monday thru Friday 7:30am till 4:00pm excluding holidays. We will try to set hauling times and dates for one week intervals however as the ground begins to thaw this time period may be reduced
The county will also notify the local and state police as to the days hauling will be permitted. If you choose to ignore this posting period you can and will be ticketed if caught. This process is in place to save the integrity of our roads, not to inconvenience people. Please help us to maintain a stable road system in the tough economic times. Thank you for your cooperation!
