QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Pursuant to 35 ILCS 200/6-20, to serve on the Board of Review, a candidate must successfully complete the IDOR board of review class within one year of taking office.
Pursuant to 35 ILCS 200/16-20, the Board of Review consists of two individuals of the majority party, and one of the minority party for the county. For Iroquois County, that means two republican members and one democrat member.

The Primary Duty of the Board of Review:
The Primary Duty of the Board of Review is to examine and review the assessment roll to determine that the assessment work was accurately completed. In addition, it is the board's responsibility to review the degree of uniformity between individual assessments, assessment jurisdictions, and classes of property, and to make necessary corrections to ensure uniform results. Acting as an unbiased intermediary between assessors and taxpayers, the Board of Review undertakes an important role in striving for equitable and fair property assessments in Iroquois County through the assessment appeal process.
